Eric Carr, he was the replacement for Peter Criss, KISS's original drummer. Since there was a post about Freddie thought this was in line as well.

Not only was he a fantastic drummer, he was well known for being the most down-to-earth and humble "rock star" that KISS ever had in it's ranks. He was a fan that got a dream job and because of that he related very well to the fans, there are many stories over his tenure of KISS where he spent long hours talking to fans after shows, in hotels, etc.

He never received as much acclaim as Peter since he came into KISS during their lowest period, the confusing "non-makeup" years where the band was floudering and pretty much lost.

He was also unfortunate enough to have died on the same day as Freddie Mercury, one of the most famous rock frontman we've ever seen. Where Freddie got hours of coverage on MTV and the like, I remember seeing only momentary spots on Eric's death after his brave battle with cancer.

He was a great musician and a great person, RIP Eric.

Yes I have only heard the nicest things said about Eric who got a bad break in life. But at least he seen his dreams come true. How many people can say they played for over 100,000 people at a show in South America R.I.P

Thanks, WI KISSfan… been so long I had forgotten….I have been a huge KISS fan since 75

If nor for Eric Carr Breathing new life into the band and totally revitalizing it; Kiss would have died in the 80’s and Gene Simmons would have been selling insurance instead of baby clothes with his face on them.

RIP Eric….your contributions to Rock And Roll far exceed that for what you get credit for. You defiantly brought a heaver element to the bad and help it evolve with the times; and help shape Rock music in that decade.

Bill

WI,
I too observed the day yesterday with an after recording session jam of Kiss tunes he played on with one of my buddies here. He was a really great guy and a class act. I was in the NY chapter of the Kiss army and met him after a show at Madison Square Garden. He was a really great person!

Wow, I had no clue that he passed on the same day as Freddie!! Jeez.

Well, rest in Peace, Love, Joy, Fun, Harmony, and Music, Eric. Thank you for all that you have done. Keep rockin' up there.

After all the articles and all the newspaper clippings, and every interview I've ever heard....I've never heard one person say that they tried to talk to Eric and got attitude from him.
