Your collection knocks 7 shades of 5h1t out of mine by the way. Lovely man!!

What is the deal with the "scalloped" frets on that Strat? Isn't that an Yngwie thing? I mean I know very little about that, does it help to be faster or soundwise or something.

Fabulous group of guitars too, I might add.

i had a discussion with CC about the paisleys. Never been a fan of them myself. but the scallops!? never tried one? i think yer right bout yngwie w&n£stain, but, oh, that would be very very interesting to play? does it affect yer speed or not? i'm sure it must be weird. would love to try it. what would it be like on a tele? (not that trixie would ever be subjected to such a thing, i love her the way she is.... in fact, new thread in tele forum about suggetions)

love the zakk as well :D

Hi Bill: oh my - a lot to look at and a lot to think about there! Some very interesting choices: congrats.

BTW: you are officially the first person I know of who has a Mesa Electra-Dyne. Care to tell us how you're liking it?

Cheers - C

Nice gear. I'm another one who is very curious about the Mesa.

I want a black with shoreline gold paisley Telecaster! haha. I didn't used to like them either but if I could choose my design it would be a lot cooler

You have great gear Bro! Thanks for posting the pics! Do you like the maple fretboards equally, more or less than the rosewood?

Hey guys….I’m loving the Dyne….so far I only have about an hour and a half on it as it just came in the mail yesterday, but here is what I think so far.

The clean mode on this amp is simply amazing, and (I hate to say it) rivals that if not blows away any fender amp I have heard. The spring reverb on it is sooo lush and creamy I was simply shocked. This channel/mode really shines with a Strat…oh WOW..When I unpacked the amp a reverb spring fell out of the box.. my first thoughts were oh no I had gotten a broken amp….called the dealer and he said try it if it don’t work that he would FEDX me a new tank the next day…it did work and all the springs are in the tank so the extra may just be an extra of fell into the box during packing by mistake.

The vintage low runs the gambit of SRV clean blues tones all the way to AC/DC classic Rock stuff and sounds really great with the reverb engaged too, which surprised me as reverb is sometimes touch and go when you have some gain going on.

The vintage high is sustain for days and days. A lush warm syrupy type of tone even with gain that will do sounds all the way to matalica kind of stuff.

I have been playing solid state amp for the last few year and had forgotten how dang loud tube amps are.. I was running the master at 2 maybe 3 and windows were shaking and nick knacks were coming off the shelves…….then I turned master to 11;00 o clock grabbed a 25 ft cord and moved into the hallway and tried to see what the 6L6 would sound like with some juice going through them and I was blown away. Like any tube amp your going to get way better tone at some volume..in the low mode I was getting Bonnamassa type tones that he archives with two or more amps, I could not belive how rich they were and in high mode the solos rang out so true every note heard even with gain pegged….I have simply forgotten how sterile the solid state really was.. I have been a Marshall user since 1986 and love the Marshall tone but this Mesa blows away anythinh I have ever played, its so thick, and has a surprising deep low end for those who might take it to Metal realm, although it is really more of a country/blues/classic rock amp………I mentioned above how the tubes really push great tone at some volume; this amp sounds super at bedroom levels as well, However you are not going to push as much gain at low volume with single coils. My Zakk Wylde les paul with active humbuckers did get me into some great Iron maiden last night at tv watching volumes. So for a tube amp to me at least that is impressive..

Again I still have less that 2 hours on the rig so have not even played with the FX loop. Gain trim, foot switch or added effects……but I will. While everybody else is watching football after dinner this Thursday, I will be in tonal heaven tweeking to my hearts content…

For those that ask about the scallops, no I don’t think there faster or slower than a regular neck just different. For blues type of bending or any vibrato playing there the cats $@!…very cool and super expressive….soo much easier for bar chords and rhythm playing too than a standard neck…..worth checking out.

Yes I prefer the maple necks……no super Mojo there… im just lazy and to me there easier to clean with no conditioning ..

Cheers
Bill
