Wow 18 years ago? Its been that long? It seems like it was just yesterday. I remember watching the televised concert of Live Aid back in 85, still could clearly see the event as if I just watched it just a few hours ago. Good thing I recorded that concert. Man I miss the 80s, my college days.

queen was my favorite band growing up and also my first concert at Madison Square Garden with Thin Lizzy opening up for them. I was 14 years old and till this day I remember everything that happened.

Back in those days being !@$ was not like it is today, and from the moment he said Hello NY in his spandex tights with a glass of Moet in his hand I knew my favorite bands singer was !@$ but I did not give a $@!& and neither did the 20,000 other people. The fact he made it so obvious never hurt that band in anyway and till this day if they put up a Mount Rushmore of frontmen I know there is a spot for him as he was one of the greatest ever.

I would say if you only know the big songs which there are a ton of as there are two greatest hits packages, take a look at some early stuff like Ogre Battle. Stone Cold Crazy, Brighton Rock, Flick of the Wrist, March of the Black Queen and Keep Yourself Alive to hear a heavy, kick you in the face band with killer riffs and licks. This is the stuff I listen to when I listen to Queen.
