I think that those of you who know me here in this forum know that I am not the type to put folks down...but I am at the point where I am going to stay off the TDPRI web site! This one guy posts how he is thinking about having a CS Tele built and asked a few questions and these guys are saying how Fenders are over priced etc etc...then this one clown posts pictures of his Warmoth parts guitar and states how he added a Fender jaguar decal to make it look "legit". Then these butt pirates have the nerve to bag on Fender. I say they are all a bunch of wanna be chumps. I bet this guy would go and try and sell his junkuar as a true Fender...it makes my blood boil and I wish Fender would sue the tar off of these clowns. Ok, sorry I just had to vent about that!

Airbornestrat,

I hate posers too. If you have a partsocaster made from licensed parts, but not genuine Fender parts, leave the Water Slide "Fender" off. No matter how much it is like, or better than a Fender, it will never be a Fender. Just my opinion.

I agree with yourkreisher. I was so ticked off when I saw this...I only own and play Fender because I so love their guitars. I especially hate how these types sit there and bash Fender prices yet have no problem adding a Fender decal to their parts caster.

OK, what is the "TDPRI"?

And yes I think it's wrong to fake a company's logo on something not made by that company. Illegal too.

TDPRI (tdpri.com) is a web site/chat board devoted to Tele and Tele style guitars. There is a wide range of personalities involved. They do have a tendency to "bash" Fenders while getting pretty proud of some off-brand stuff.

I will say there are some things I like about the goup. They tend to not get too involved in the MIA vs MIM vs Squier debates. They do have a good following with each brand, and at least among the Fender crowd I feel they get along pretty good.

A lot of the guys there are involved in their own build projects, and this is where they can get carried away like airbornestrat is referring to. I do see some build projects that are pretty awesome. They are also fairly heavy into modding their Fender Tele's.

There is a lot of Tele expertise on the board. I learn a lot when I pop over there.

I don't find them quite as offensive as my brother airbornestrat does, but I don't get over to that board more than 1-2x/week, where I'm here several times during the day. I do tend to fit better with this crowd.

If you want to see another different bunch, go to shortscale.org. Makes the TDPRI guys look pretty mild. The forum at ReRanch (http://reranch.com/reranch/) is kinda unique too. I'll bet though there are guys (like me) that do kinda lurk around over all these sites. I learn a great deal on the things I'm interested in and pretty well ignore the rest.

I never go to those sites. The maturity level of some of those people is just out of order, as with most forums.

At least here when there's a disagreement it is sorted civilly, apologetically and amicably which I think is wonderful.

Also, those people who put Fender decals on fake guitars should be shot. No jury, no trial. Just dragged outside and shot.

There was a band going in to the rehearsal space after my band and I noticed the bass player had a Fender P-Bass. I asked the guy about it. Said he paid 800 quid for it yet it turned out to be a fake and the Fender decal is now peeling off.

#$@*&!% disgusting.

Well I go to about 4 or 5 other forums at least two or three times a week. The most post I might have in any of them is probably in the 60s. I drop in on Harmony Centrals forum which is really a mixed forum of all types of players and not bad. The Gear Page to just check out what guys are selling or dealing.VH Links because I am into Wolfgangs and EBMM EVHs. The one that drives me crazy is the EBMM site as Sterling Ball is a regular on there he is BIG POPPA and though they have a very nice site and make a great ax IMHO I have never seen a bigger bunch of $@! kissers in my life.

God forbid someone mentions a stress crack in the neck joint as they sometimes have a habit of happening and BIG POPPA says a wise crack the forum guys will rip the poor guy to shreds. I thought it was cool that he was a regular on there but the way they suck up to him makes me want to vomit believe me. So I just drop in now to see what they are selling as they can sell there EBMM axes on there which is cool, as they sell to each other at great prices before they go to ebay or CL. But as far as going on the forum I have maybe 4 post there and dont stop in no more after seeing to many guys ganged up on for asking a fair question ,as I would lose it and also go tell big POPPA where he could go.

So I would say there are 3 sites I enjoy a quick drop in on but there is not a forum that comes remotely close to ours. Unless you go to other forums you would think this is normal at how fast the rooms move here, well this is not the norm by far. Some places have the same first page for weeks and you can here the crickets chirping. There is no place like home.

I still check out that forum regularly, but don't post as much as I used to because sometimes threads get locked over there for no reason at times...BUT it is a good site, with lots of people who know a lot about Telecasters. I wouldn't let a few bad apples spoil you from going over there, as overall, its a good site for getting information about Telecasters...

I think it odd that anyone would bash Fender about prices and compare them to Warmoth. It cost more to build a Warmoth guitar!

Plus if someone were to build a Warmoth guitar out of there higher end parts that they sell why would you want to put a fender label on it? I would rather people know its a quarter saw Birdseye maple neck from warmoth or one of there other high end necks. Compound radius whatever. You have to remember warmoth sells some high quality parts.
