Is it me or are the pages on this site now too wide to completely view from left tor right on the screen? I've even tried zooming out but it doesn't help. Anyone else having this problem?

I've been using a widescreen laptop and hadn't really thought about it fitting on smaller screens. It is a hell of a lot wider though.

I've got about 1/2 inch on either side of the page Martian. I find the poster's name a little small for my old eyes though.

Hey Guys,

Just to clarify for you, the new site is built to accommodate 1024x768 screen resolution, which is the defacto web standard resolution currently. Meaning, the majority of web users in the world (and even for our site) use this screen resolution on their computers - or even higher. If you're unable to view the entire page without horizontal scrolling, you probably have your screen resolution set to 800x600.

Hope this helps :)

Actually, it did perfectly. I reset my screen resolution and all is well once again!

Thank you, Steve!!

Seems fine I am currently using 1920 - 1080 on My Mac, and the others seem fine as well.

On a 22" widescreen it's pitch black off to the sides now but it has the rear view mirror effect.

Ceri was right about possibly losing those pictures.

It's like "How much more black could this be?" And the answer is none. None more black.

I have a square screen and it all fits just fine.

What I do miss is the way the old threads were boxed instead of the new way, other than that everything is so much better.

:D Luckily I saw that coming and saved any pics I thought I might need later...:

BTW: seriously for a second, I often use other people's computers and find that many still prefer a 600x800 screen resolution. Especially slightly older or less design conscious folks.

At the risk of sounding like Molly Holzschlag from a decade ago, dynamic page design is still available to solve this problem. Especially applicable to a text-based forum.

Far more work for the web designer, however. Making pages that look good at a wide range of resolutions is challenging...

All the "naughty" photos people have been posting recently. Must admit, that young lady is enough for me! :D
