My band didn't want much D.J.-ing. I still got a lick in every now and then.

We played a wedding reception in Fallbrook, Ca. The house was in an avacado grove. They had a dog named Sam. He would bring you an avacado and want you to throw it for him. He would run and bring it back to you until it broke open; then he would eat the avacado. I thought he was rather smart to instigate his own play and feeding.

I started dedicating every song to "Sam the Avacado Dog". People thought it was funny while the band wanted me to can it. At the end of the gig there was a very attractive young lady that the whole band had been watching during the party. She walked accross the yard and put her arms around my neck. She thanked me for making the day special with the Avacado Dog bit. She planted a big kiss on me and walked away.

...and yes, I still alway talk to the crowd.

Keep it short, they aren't there to hear ya talk.
