Post subject: standard strat? why two?

why are there 2 versions of the standard strat on the new website?
one costs $599 and the other $689.

Just a guess here... but i'm thinking that the more expensive one
might be Made In U.S.A while the less expensive is Made In Mexico.

It looks like a Mexican serial number on the cheaper one in that pic.

But i'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination,
so i could definitely be completely wrong about that.

if the other one is MIA i think it would be a lot more than 600 and something dollars. :wink:
on the new website the MIA standard is listed at like 1600 dollars i think.

Some things need fine tuning on the new site. The Standard goes up to $1,199 with a roland pup but there are a few price changes along the line and I would believe it would have to do with specs but hen you press specs it only works on two of the models.

The $689 model is the one that was introduced in 2009. The $599 model is the one that was out before. I'm guessing the latter was put on indvertantly, but I could be wrong as I still see them in stores.
