I just tried to play very gently, the tip of the metal is hitting my pick guard, so no playing til it comes off, hopefully in a week or so. he doesn't think it's broken, but I'm having x-rays done on Monday...meanwhile, I'm icing the knuckles, where most of the swelling is, for 10 minutes at a time.

If that had been your left hand I'd say it would be a good time to learn to play slide.
