Okay, Fender actually just bought Kaman, who owns those divisions. Also LP and Toca hand percussion products, Gibraltar Hardware, and becomes the exclusive U.S. sales representative for Sabian Cymbals, and exclusive worldwide distributor of Gretsch Drums.

Very cool. Perhaps now some of their products will get much needed advertising and be more readily available to those who favor these brands.

Great brands... but I love my Takamine - I don't want it to be a Fender!

As long as Fender doesn't mess with Hamer's production, I'm happy...

I hadn't heard that! About a million years ago, my band and I toured the original factory in New Hartford, CT. Charlie Kaman and his son ran a helicopter company and were amateur guitarists. Charlie designed the round back with the help of one of his acoustical engineers so the story goes. I guess it's the end of an era . . . and the start of a new one.

I live a mile from Kaman and it will be interesting to see if they keep them there or move them. Kaman is one of the largest distributors of musical instruments - way beyond the actual brands they make. Let's hope this is a good thing!

My guess is that these guys got a great offer...

I have spent some time hanging with Jeff Genzler and he is a great guy... his cabs are among the best.

I hope your right Suhr Thing in that these products remain the same and get more advertising...
