I know this is a Fender forum but I also play Gibson (I have more Fender instruments FYI). I worry what this will do to Gibson's already high prices. Guess I won't be buying any new Gibsons in the near future. :(

Gibson has a close relationship with FBI Agent Jack Bauer, so they'll probably be okay....

No doubt they buy the wood legally from a reputable company. Although they are stuck in the middle of legal proceedings right now, I'm sure their name will clear up in the end. Just looks like bad PR for now.

It went quiet because people realized that there were REAL problems in the world that need attention.

It's wood, more will grow.

"oh no this is special MAGIC wood" yeah and I'll sell some magic beans to go with it.

I think its more the inhabitants of the trees that were cut down than the actual trees themselves, that the greens are worried about.

I still think that the US has many much more significant problems that should be dealt with and to have my tax money wasted on this kind of foolishness just irks me. If nothing else, there are roads, and bridges, and dams all over the USA that need repairing. And these loonies are overly concerned about tree dwelling critters.

But its not just the usa. Its a global problem that needs policing. Its the responsibility of a nation to police their inhabitants that transgress global law. Thats the model George 2nd used to start his war of terror. Obey our sense of right and wrong or be invaded. Theres a few figures mentioned in this that show the cost of his posturings.

I still hold that there are many more important issues that need attention before this type of twaddle is even considered.

OMG, That could be the answer! Gibson forgot to pay it's "protection money".
