I went to a friends funeral yesterday. She was only 48 and a hell of a singer. So I'm sitting there and doing my deep thoughts during the funeral, and I hear "Years" by Lorrie Morgan, "Angel Flying too Close to the Ground" by Willie Nelson and "Me and Bobbie Megee" by Janis Joplin. Made me think, what music do I want played at my funeral? Maybe some gospel tunes by Johnny Cash, or something like that. How about you?

Hopefully by the time I pas we will have figured out how to resurrect people from the dead and I can just have Skip James play all the music. He could choose whatever songs he likes to play tribute, that would be a beautiful farewell for me in my opinion.

maybe, it was his funeral dirge. beautiful and moving, a huge expansion from the original number.

As an aside, I have toyed with the idea of making my own Casket. And for some reason i thought it might be funny to make it look like a classic Tweed guitar case.

Well, considering I plan to be cremated, it probably doesn't matter much. However, if I were to choose then, probably "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art".

I hear ya! One of the several memorial services that I was at recently played "Goodbye" by Lionel Ritchie. Now I'm not a fan of him, but hearing those words at that time, really hit home!

I think I'll have 'Memories' played at mine?

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's passing.

I had this similar conversation w/ a friend of mine who is older, and is going throught the early stages of M.S.; He is also a huge EVH, Van Halen fan like myself. He wants me to make sure they play "Runnin' With The Devil". Not a bad choice..... :D
As for me , that is a tough decision. That is a thinker.....I do know i don't want it to be any sappy religious mumbo jumbo.

Dude this is a great idea, what a better way to be laid to rest.

Already have mine sorted.

Heaven can wait during the service.

Highway to hell during the cremation.

Honestly, just the wind in the trees and a chirping bird or two.

That'll be my song. :]
