I know that the starcaster came out in thee late 60's and early 70's but now they are reissuing them i do believe - but my reaserch show that they arent tru fenders and that squir is just using that name now so it isnt the real deal - can anyone tell me the difference of the starcaster and the stratocaster? is it a new guitar or just trying to fool us?

Are you referring to the semi hollow body Starcaster or the entry level Strat style Starcaster?

Starcasters are cheap because they are made cheap. Cheap wood, cheap hardware, cheap electronics, cheap labor, just plain cheap. Cheap in cost and in quality. IMHO and experience thus far they aren't as good as most entry level Squiers, and they are not even close to a MIM standard or higher end Squier. It is just another one of those entry level "value pack" P.O.S. that IMHO is money much better spent on a used MIM or Squier.
