I am all for that as soon as they find a suitable replacement for Rosewood (color).

Fender uses pao ferro on the Artist SRV which seems acceptable if color is your issue.

Perhaps musicians ought to show the way by letting go of the mantra that "it ain't a sports car if it isn't a Ferrari", and refuse to purchase anything made from endangered species trees....rosewood of any kind, for example.

Not all rosewood is endangered.

Not all prohibited rosewood is out of bounds because it is endangered. the Madagascar rosewood also is habitat for endangered lemurs.

Using rosewood isn't the problem, harvesting prohibited woods is the problem.

Geneticaly modified tree's. Thats the answer. Theres really no reason to withold their implementatiion since we've ruined the worlds fauna and flora with GM grain. Notice that the two countries using GM foods suffer the worst obesity in the world. Theres even talk of cross pollenation spreading into europe now.
All that so they can superbulk a pig or cow on food that takes a month to grow. Cross pollenation now means in the UK you cant get a natural homegrown vegetable anymore. Unless it was grown in some biodome under the strictest of conditions. Theres just no way to guarantee naturally grown, unaffected food. Make no mistake the USA suffers the same plight. And now its in the ecology cycle, theres nothing that can be done to be rid of it.

Why not implement it with trees. No direct tax yeild, thats why. Wouldnt it be nice to see the rainforrests back up to full health in the next 60 years. Unfortunately that wouldnt make anyone rich so its passed over. It really shows where our so called ecologicaly aware leaders are. They'd rather tell you to drive 5 miles less a week than look at a real way to get the treeline back up to par. A growing tree produces way more oxygen than a fullgrown one.

[quote="nikininja"]Geneticaly modified tree's. Thats the answer.

.......and genetically modified to effect the tone of a particular artist. That would be a must. Artist specific, genetically modified tone woods. Establish the artist's genome and then genetically engineer a tree which is compatible with it.

That's the way ya do it. 8)

I am all for that as soon as they find a suitable replacement for Rosewood (color). I think ebony is on that list as well. Let's just hope that Fender is getting their Rosewood through proper channels.

It would be interesting to see a maple neck Gibson  .

RK

RK My Epi Custom Plus is a Maple set neck LP. The Customs Plus came that way in 2003 to 04 from the Saein Korea at the time they made certain Epi's Custom plus , 56 reissues gold tops an some others it was a small company of less the 100 they now have several places in China. The ones with the ( I ) in the serial number for made in Saein are the ones to get when you an fine them. And to find the maple neck Lp's is hard.
