Meh, i'll pass. I'm not on the John Mayer train really. Good guitarist, but over-hyped imho.

I will give it a chance, but if it's not better than the other stuff i have heard it'll be strike 3 for mr mayer. I want to like the guy because I know he is a talented player, but I just can't see his skills being worthy or the super hype he gets placed on him. The link you posted was decent stuff but it was also only 3:39 in duration and the first guitar didn't come in until :45 seconds in. Too much "glitz" and "MTV" for me. Using the herb references to open up makes it sound even more mainstreamish. I'll give the album a listen as I did with the others, but I can't see the hype still. Enjoy it though, I know a lot of people like this guy.

i like the song Assassin thats my #1 fav track, i also like Heartbreak Warfare, Perfectly Lonely, Who Says, and Half of my Heart. But the album as a whole is great, one of those albums you can listen to w/o skipping a track

The song "Who Says" kind of has a Jack Johnson vibe to it. Its ok but it won't make me rush out to buy the album. I'll have to hear a couple more tracks before I do that. I really liked the Live trio album though. I once was playing an SRV album before the John Mayer live album, and the last track on SRV was a live cut and I did'nt even notice the transition between the two for a couple of tracks.

"who says" to me sounded like a mix of "heart of life" and "stop this train" BY john mayer.
