From what I've seen, being a singer isn't a prerequisite, but if you're entertaining people, making them forget their pains, troubles and headaches even for a few minutes, it can't be all that bad?

the point o karaoke is people who think they can sing, but can't, or people who can't sing and know it and just don't care.

Like I said, I have a female singer that's very good that I found singing at a karaoke lounge. It just so happened that she had a CD out and was using karaoke to sell a few more CDs.

Never tried it. Never thought about it. Of course, if you ever want to empty a room I might give it a shot.

I ended up singing karaoke on New Years a few years ago. I didn't mean to. I pretty much hate it but there was a gorgeous blond who actually had a really nice voice egging me on and, what can I say, I'm weak. I'd also had a few drinks and the music was old folkie stuff that I knew.

Never again though. I'm serious!

Peace, Gridlok 8)

I have not tried it.

Why is it so popular in Asia?

I have not been to a party or a bar were theirs a karaoke that I won't make a go at it. Of course I get asked to sing from time to time, I don't no why but some seem to like it. Just has to be the right music to match the voice.

It would take a lot of liquor to get me up there. I hate making a fool of myself by accident. Why would I want to do it on purpose? :?
