My suggestion is to start a rock and roll memoribilia store in a mall . Do a booth to start with ,You might have to carry some metal stuff ,but I think there is an untapped market for the vintage stuff. Think about some of the merchadise Fender has available as well as other music companies.Take it for what its worth.

Depending on their location on Canada, they may already be doing that... 8)

Seriously though, I hear all these southpaws complaining about how they don't have enough of this or that...so perhaps a Guitar Leftorium?

Hi Nevin

Suggestion #1 (Computers)
Get a courses as ITIL Expert. Corporations are demanding a stable restructuring of us geeks in IT. Good $$ but evil job.

Suggestion #2 (Growing)
Check government Canada site plus your provincial government site and look at everything that has to do with growing and supporting "green" economy. There are grants now if you are unemployed or if you want to develop something to do with art .

Start a very artistic rock band that grows something green (hmmm I think somebody already did that!! just joking).

Hello Nevin1985,

Cleaning services seem to do quite well
with little initial investment.
Not glamorous but it'll pay your bills.

Cheers.

Growing in some regions of Cali is legal and they even offer courses on it :)
No so in Canada.

If you can code people pay foolishly large amounts to have their small business websites designed and built.

There also seems to be a demand for people that are certified and can weld, the gov will even help with the re-education and getting your ticket. Not exactly a home business though :)

I want to start up my own small business, so I have been throwing ideas around.

Can you come up with any to share? Anything at all, just throw it out there. It does not have to be music related, but it should be something that can be started up without having a massive fortune.

It would help me out so much!

Thanks!

Personally, I am good with computers and agriculture. And of course guitars and music, but I am open to more than just that.

Anything!

There was a retired USAF Master Sargeant when I was stationed in the UK back in the early '70s who had a trailer that he would park just off of the RAF Base and he sold pizza, 3 kinds cheese, sausage and pepperoni, all of his dough was cut to size and he just added the toppings and cooked them in two or three small ovens inside the trailer, one size, large, 2 quid for cheese and 2.25 for sausage or pepperoni. I always thought if I could come up with the money for the trailer (it was pulled by his pick-up truck) the cost of the little ovens and refrigerator shouldn't be too much, I could park near an apartment jungle ( an area that has all apartment buildings some of those around Chi can have 4 or 5 thousand units in less than 2 square miles which means 10 or more thousand potential customers at one stop) and if every one bought a pizza a month from me I could make a living because virtually no overhead. Start up cost and ingredients. On a busy night some one could bring extra supplies if needed. No rent, no electric, no gas bill, minimum advertising costs because just like the ice cream man people would wait for you to arrive. There was always a line of people from the time he arrived until the time he left. Thats my thought.
