Ah cmon now SBS. Did you really use that in the house, both speaker cabs?

Tell the truth now

In light of my previous comment, I'd like to add.

A fullstack looks the business, but in truth its highly impractical and you'll end up with a bad back from lugging it around. You only ever mic' one speaker of a cab anyway, usually bottom left. Theres something to be said for putting another speaker on the opposite side of the stage. If your the only guitarist and your not mic'ing to a pa.

Niki, that was the room I stored it in when in the service, it was too cumbersome to carry to were I was stationed. The bands I played in at those bases always had a decent bass amp for me to use. I do miss that little monster and could sure use it now.

The superbass plexi, wasnt it?

I know where theres a 71 for sale but its not cheap and has regular 4x12's not bass 4x12's.

Incidently Marshall have cloned Lemmy's Murder1 amp, thats pretty much what yours was. They did the same as they did with the Randy Rhodes and Kerry King amps. They cloned that particular amp, measured the component values to get the component drift. Ordered them to be made and slapped it all together. They make great amps.

Thanks again Niki, if we ever sell any songs I would definitely look for one of those, sort of to make up for a huge mistake if that is possible.

Ah indeed - and that was measured 50 yards from the stage, I believe. It was in the Guinness Book of Records for several years.

Strange thing: about four years later I spent a Who gig pressed hard to the front of the stage with my head right between Pete's monitors. Yet the blast from his wall of HiWatts was not too bad at all. Only many years later did I discover that he only ever plugged in one or at the most two of the cabs: the rest were just for show.

A few years ago I saw The Who at Wembley Arena (not the stadium) and Pete was just using a single Fender Vibrolux to play to 20,000. PAs have come a long way...

Cheers - C
