Yup.

And we've all seen great shows by
greater artists than the youngsters
will ever get to see in their lifetimes.

Seems like a fair trade off to me.

God, thanks for ruining my day!!

I would've loved to have been alive in that time....
Everything seemed so much more fun and care-free in the world of music, you know? Everything seemed so unique and sincere.

You "old timers" are so lucky.

I saw springsteen twice in 86 or 87 for £14 a ticket. I was only 14/15 and wormed and squeezed my way right up to the front at the Shefield gig. The gig at the villa ground was just too packed, I honestly thought I was going to suffocate. Dire straits too around that time for much the same price. I saw metalica on the end of the 'Justice for all tour' in 89. That cost £25. I saw Suicidal Tendencies, Testement, Megadeth and Slayer all on the same bill in 1990 for £35. Numerous other thrash acts, cant remember the details of em all though.

Donnington (formerly ozfest now Download) and Glastonbury I've been to numerous times and always jumped the fence. Thats getting harder as my waistband expands though. They've both gone really downhill. Glastonbury used to be a psychadelic paradise, now its just yuppies in tshirts. The best party at that place is in the carpark and the campsite. Donnington is starting to improve but my old love for metal is quite dead. Blame the waistband again, skintight jeans just aint no fun for me anymore unless some gals wearin em.

Showing my age here, I saw them in '88 for $20. They were with Queensryche. Awesome show for both bands.

Led Zeppelin tickets in 1977 at Capital Center were 9.50

it's amazing how times have changed bands that were 7.50 or 3.00 are now $125 - almost $500. Concerts today like I said are once in awhile from some people. I was recently looking and saw that Kenny Wayne Shepherd was $64. I'm a big KWS fan but $64 is a little pricey don't ya think? While bands like the Stones, The Who, and Clapton will cost ya an arm and a leg

Went to see Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, and Styx last night. Won 4th row floor tickets on the radio.
Those tickets were retailing for $125....

I would not have paid for those tickets.

WOW NightRanger are still going???????

Thats got to be the 8th wonder of the world. Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson were some force to be reckoned with.

Wow all I can say is that while i'm reading these post i am so glad i never cared too much about concerts and large crowds. Seeing the prices for todays shows i'm sure i never will see a live show for anyone really big unless it's a gift or reward. I can think of alot of things i could use the money for. Most of the performers aren't as good live anyways and you don't have to worry about getting trampled over.

All i could say was "WOW" b/c the price for U2 (or any classic rock band) is pretty much over or close to $100.

I saw U2 play back in 2000 and my ticket cost me $100. I was in the last row.

No more Jeff Watson. Young kid named Joel Hoekstra. But great guitarist, no great loss.
