Ha! I was planning to visit the haunted house on the hill where 25 unexplained murders have taken place. The one that's built on an ancient burial ground and also at the meeting point of multiple dimensions.

But now you point out the date I don't think I'll bother...

Warning: count your women because there are precisely 13 witches in a coven.

How many loaves are there in a 'Baker's Dozen'? It is superstition that prevents this number be mentioned by name, in fact the extra loaf, presumably the runt of the litter, was baked as a special bribe for the devil not to spoil the batch of loaves.

Sportsmen are notoriously superstitious and many teams avoid using number 13 in their squads. Dan Marino broke most of the quarterback's records, he fearlessly wore number 13 throughout his career with the Miami Dolphins. However, some say his number was his undoing and is responsible for his epithet, 'The greatest quarterback never to win a Super Bowl'. Fate played it's part in Super Bowl XIX, where Dan Marino (13) was beaten by his nemesis Joe Montana who preferred number 16 on his back.

Ah 13 in a coven. I'm quite safe the four of my household are all accounted for.

For the record I've always taken 13 as being my lucky number, after all I was born on the 13th.

I always thought unlucky 13 came from the last supper. 13 at the table. That said if the betrayal, crucifixion and ressurection didnt happen neither would salvation. If you follow that thought proccess through.

In some other countries, instead of Friday, Tuesday the 13th is considered bad luck.[citation needed] For example, the Fall of Constantinople, when the city fell to the Ottomans (a fact which marked the end of the Byzantine Empire), happened Tuesday, May 29, 1453, and is why Greeks consider Tuesday to be an unlucky day.[citation needed]

I was born on tuesday 13th

I've had a few good things happen to me on Friday 13th, including my first true "paid" gig - Friday, November 13, 1968. The club my parents belonged to had a band booked for the month, but they canceled with about four hours notice that particular Friday night. Unlucky for them, lucky for me. They called the union local but they had no one they could send over so in shear desperation, my dad asked if my band would play.

I once got a promotion on Friday the 13th and in my first "job," I was named employee of the month ... on Friday the 13th.

On the other hand, I don't recall anything bad ever happening to me on Friday the 13th. I've even survived walking under a ladder or two in life (being a bass player, I'm of course too darned lazy to walk around 'em). Black cats ... and a black Strat ... have crossed my path and yet I live to type this.

As for covens, well hey if I can get 13 women (or 12 ... or maybe 11, or how about 10 say ... heck I'd settle for 1) in my house all at once, I won't care what they call it :) If the Devil shows up too, well that's why I have more than one guitar!
