I think its a good Idea, we should all post something to inflame Slapchops sense of right and wrong.
I got a few longheld beliefs that may tempt him back.

Egnaters sound terrible. I'm sorry but the blues jr just sounds so much better.

SRV is the best guitarist ever and everyone should emmulate him.

Tone has nothing to do with eq, its all magical and ethereal

Telecasters should only ever have maple fretboards. They just dont sound right with anything else.

Expensive leads are way better than cheap ones. Capacitance value be damned.

Compressors are great signal boost pedals.

Compressors sometimes can be used as signal boosters.

And I distinctly recall a thread where Mr Chop argued strongly in favor of high quality leads/chords. And argued angrily against budget mixers too.

Though energetic to attack some of the mythology he has his own tone and signal type fixations too. And don't get him started on microphones! (Well do actually; it's interesting...)

BTW: I was working on a theory that SlapChop and Big Jay were in fact alter egos of the same fella. They had much common ( ) and both seemed to fall off the Forum at the same time - but Jay is back again now, so that puts paid to that one.

Nah I distinctly remember him berrating the way guitarists use compressors as boosts. Then there was that 6 pager on the strat forum about monstercables and how price doesnt affect performance, core quality does.

I dunno, as complex a character as Jay is, I think its a bit beyond him to argue with himself.

He does bare a more than passing likeness to tyler durden though. I also think he's more than capable of splicing film too.
