Here, too, the GOP is practically identical to the left. obama and mccain's
policies on immigration and health care were the same. Whatever they could get away with.

At least with obama in there, the right can throw up passive resistance.
If mcain had won, they'd have handed amnesty and health-care to him
with a bow on it.

Hey, Niki. How about changing your name to Hassim, and applying at that
refinery?

Either way, you better pick out a nice prayer rug, daddy-o.

I've been a soldier. My war was fourty years ago. It was bullshit, as I've come to think of them all. The rich and the powerful, along with the nut cases in control, get the thing started, then send us out to kill and die. If the guys who get the things going had to do the actual bleeding and dying, peace might break out. Wouldn't that be a trip? I, in my youth, volunteered. If I had it to do again, I would tell them to sit on the high hard one and stay home. I was lucky. FIFTY-EIGHT THOUSAND names on a black monument were not. Why? GREED pure and simple. But it will never end. As long as there are people it will never end. It don't matter who starts it, they will blame the other guy. Hell, look at this forum. People want to argue about who's guitar is better, or who should retire because of different opinions about their talent and, worthyness to be a performing artist. Rule one is that people are gonna squabble and fuss. Rule number two is that, rule number on is not subject to change......Sad ,but in the words of Old Blue Eyes (Frank Senatra for you kids) ........"THAT'S LIFE" :(

Taurus we will have to do that ourself here before long with our immigration. Heck in Baltimore when they are not even allowed to ask if they are here legally when they arrest them for anything. They have places setup where illegals are allowed to gather to be picked up for day work even.
I am like Niki I have not done rigging work in long time because its not there. Just side jobs for some shops like I have always done for extra cash and fun. Its not full time work and don't pay rigging wages + travel + hazards money for sure.

They want to pass a healthcare bill but don't want to exclude illegal's theres something wrong with that picture too. We all agree healthcare needs something but thats not it. If they are going to do something sit down and do it right don't push it to get down fast just cause Obamalama wants it now. Once its there it will never go away just like any other entitlement program. WE can not afford this we need something that going to promote jobs. Factory jobs, construction jobs, assembly line jobs, Mill jobs you get where I am going Blue Collier not service industry.

Nothing wrong with being blunt my friend. It's the other kind of talk that causes the problems. Blunt is just another way of saying "straight forward."

Wolfman

Theres a lot of times as someone who could easily be viewed as an atagonist, I pull my punches. Theres numerous wars that have benefitted me, numerous that havent.
I've never fought, I've never been in military involvement. I have the sense to know when I should just shut up and thank the people that do/have, sometimes.

This is one of those times. For as much of a questioning antagonistic bastard that I am. I wouldnt have the ability to be that way if it weren't for people that in times of need, DID do what was needed. I just want the sevice people that I owe the bit of liberty I love to, to know that I'm gratefull. Everything else is bollocks. Men that did, did. It may not of all have turned out great. Their part is immortal in my book.

Wolfman, cheers you fought for me, you did what you were asked to do and I owe you more than one.

If they had instigated a sensible immigration policy for european residents non of this would have occured. I strongly believe it was set up this way to give rise to a far right party thus taking votes from a normal rightwing, more tolerant party. Thus keeping the left in power longer.

Niki this sounds so familiar. Import voters to help keep you in office. Though many would not admit it but its common knowledge that certain groups are going to vote in a predictable way no matter the candidate. Anyone who says thats not true is kidding themselves and don't want to admit it.

CV- Something needs to be done, indeed. Like, maybe an agency, arbitration, to see that those who pay premiums get what they've paid for.
Or, even something with a wider scope than that. But, as you said, once a
program is in place, even if it is unsatisfactory, it aint going away.
Well, unless it runs out of money. But, whatever it turns out to be, it will draw even more dependent people into the trough. I feel like we're going
to be like Brazil, where there just isnt enough payers to carry our users.
Maybe that's the secret plan of the GOP, to end the welfare state. Like they had a plan. That's my party.

Wolfman- Great post. Thanks for surviving and coming back.

Hey Taurus this bill that they just past in congress says that people can keep there present insurance, notice the word present because once you leave it because of a job change or anything else you are required to go onto the government one this is the plan to shut down the insurance companies and get everyone into a government run single payer plan through attrition . Who knows what the GOP is doing, maybe sitting back waiting for the others to bury themselves which is why I believe the healthcare bill that is being touted is to take effect the first year of the next presidential cycle. You no get reelected before the screw up becomes obvious.
