It looks like it may be the end of Aerosmith as we know it.

The friction within the band was particularly evident in recent weeks as the band played contractually obligated shows in San Francisco, Hawaii, and Abu Dhabi. Tyler not only didn't rehearse with the band, but he traveled separately and did not see or speak to the other members off stage.

In an interview yesterday, guitarist Joe Perry said he and Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton, and drummer Joey Kramer were surprised by Tyler's comments, and aren't sure what the singer is thinking.

"Like everyone else, we just read it online," Perry said. "We were kind of knocked back on our heels."

Fans may get their first glimpse of "brand Tyler" in January when the singer appears at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, N.H. The event, "Dream On: An Intimate Evening With Steven Tyler," is billed as a multimedia presentation with video, a two-song performance, and a Q&A with the singer. The evening, which promises "a revealing look at the intimate details of Tyler's life," is a benefit for Child and Family Services' adolescent substance abuse treatment and child abuse prevention initiatives.

Maybe he hit his head when he fell off the stage recently and shook something up in his brain.

BTW: can you imagine Steve Tyler and Mick Jagger together in an "eat as much as you can in a minute" competition? That would be a photo op...

Cheers - C

Maybe his doctor's have told him that at age 61, he can't possibly keep up doing what he's been doing and make it to 62?

I heard that Steve Tylers and Mick Jaggers mothers would save the cost of getting a babysitter by wetting their lips and sticking them to the wall.

In fact not the first time I've heard that - but it still made me splutter my tea across the keyboard with laughter!

Cheers - C

No band is officially broken up forever, until somebody dies, and even then, if you're Skynyrd or Alice In Chains, death of band members doesn't matter anyways...

It seems like every time Aerosmith breaks up for rehab or any other reason they come back a few years later with an awsome album. With age getting up there for them and the times changing this just might be the end. Only one good thing can come of it... Solo Albums.

Some others on this board might disagree?

Just cause a singer leaves for a solo career, doesn't mean he can't comeback. Bruce Dickinson (and Adrian Smith, though not the singer) did just that with Iron Maiden, and both are back.

Just cause a singer leaves, doesn't mean the band is through...look at when Ozzy left Sabbath, and some guy name Dio started singing...

Besides, you people seem to forget that Joe Perry left Aerosmith for a solo career at one point... Yeah they put out a crappy album, but the point is, the band, even though a bastardized form, was still out there, and they did eventually reunite...

The toxic twins can't stand each other it seems, but they also can't stand to be apart from each other either ?
