I've been reading a few things from Brad Whitford and Joe Perry that Steve Tyler has left Aerosmith and they are replacing him!

Wtf?

Does anyone know anything?

All I know is, Joe Perry has a new solo CD coming out, which he says features some material that was going to be for a new Aerosmith record, but then there were contract issues between members. Then Tyler had his various recent health issues. He may have quit, I don't know as I am limited in my web surfing at work, though I am able to access this forum since its got the word "community" and not "forum" right after the main header....sorry got sidetracked...

I just think its a way to get out some hype for Joe Perry's solo record, and then it makes the price tag for them getting back together go higher, and they'll make more money on that offer at some point in the future. Look at the Eagles, they once said that they would only reunite when Hell Froze Over...or more like when the price is right....Its been how many Eagles reunion tours now? And Hell is nowhere near frozen as far as I know...

It'll prob be like a Paul Roger's and Queen thing. I agree that they are long dead, someone should have purposely got them high for the last few albums, they seemed to be more loose and groovy before they were clean.

It's just such a pity to see them part ways after so long together.

Could all be a publicity thing too???

Tim Collins, Aerosmith's first manager, claims that they thrive on publicity and that also helps to boost their morale?

Thats what I am saying...or what I thought I said in my previous response here. Joe Perry has a solo CD coming...Tyler may want a solo career too, but you announce the band breaks up, so that way, once they get done with their solo projects, they can raise the price tag of an Aerosmith reunion up because "they really want to do solo projects, but for this amount of money, they might think about getting back together...." It worked for the Eagles. Hell never froze over, but they got back together most likely because someone put enough money on the table....

I'm sure many of them would, but before they can take the money, Axl needs to get his head out of his arse so he can see the money...

I heard that on the radio this morning and the 1st thing that came to mind was that it had to be a publicity stunt. If thats not the case I wonder if its the beginning of the end for them as a band.

In music, racing, wrestling, and for Brett Favre, no one is ever really retired or nothing really is at its final end until they are dead... Because there is always a possibility of a reunion, comeback, or one night only performance, etc....

I've never been a huge Aerosmith fan, but it'll be weird to see someone else at the helm.

All interesting stuff, two words Rusty Stevens he knows Steven Tyler so I don't think it would 'cause a problem for an album or two until he's ready to come back and it would put the hard cut edge back on Aerosmith kinda bring 'em back home so to speak. For those that don't know Rusty: former singer for Underbelly, Bunker Hill ( when he met Steven Tyler), Roller (still their singer) and now with Drop. There ain't another whiskey drinkin' kickass rock and roll singer that could fill Steven Tylers shoes on this planet, but it sure would be fun to hear that happen.
