Wow, I'm surprised. I would have bet that almost everyone would like the original.
It's amazing how they can go back and rework stuff from 1970, you would think that something that old and the technology used wouldn't be compatible with what we have today.

Another vote for the original from a guy who owns everything they've ever done.

Not a big deal or amazing to convert the original multi-track tape to digital. It's done quite often actually. There are still analog tape machines around from that era too.

Since we're on the topic of Let It Be, I foolishly keep wishing for an official release of the Let It Be movie on DVD. Probably will never happen while Paul and Ringo are still around to keep preventing the project from ever seeing the light of day.

I've been doing the same thing too.

The only thing that has stopped me from giving up hope on this was when Help! was released on DVD and I thought the same thing was going to happen with that movie too.

Let It Be is out on DVD,my daughters gave me all the Beatles movies on DVD last Christmas. It's copyrighted by Apple but released by United Artists, the number on the jacket reads: DTS-9704 I don't know if thats the catalogue number but that's all that's there. It's great to see the Beatles at work in the studio and be able to pause the action and ogle their gear.

Wow! Thanks for the info!!!!!! I had to go to Amazon.com as soon as I read your post and look up the DVD. Is this the DVD you got?

but after reading some reviews, I'm a little hesitant to pursue this DVD until it's been fully remastered and cleaned up like it deserves to be. It sounds like the quality of the current DVD is not much better than my old VHS copy of a copy.

This is a rather harsh review for the collector's version of the Let It Be DVDs from Amazon:
"This disc is as much of a bootleg as all those others and anyone who's dumb enough to buy it deserves the poor quality and crappy sound these bogus discs offer. LET IT BE has never been on DVD. The best we can do is to find it on a laser disc or an old VHS tape, period. That's the truth. Check for official Beatles movie releases and such, check one of those books by Mark Lewishon. You'll see just how laughable the claim is that this is an official release. "Anniversay edition" "Limited Edition" all these claims are distracting, but if you have a brain, you'll remember that these things are fake. The day you can go buy LET IT BE on a dvd from Wal Mart or Best Buy and the Beatles' site has a blurb about the release, then you can be assured you're getting the real deal. This disc here, probably made in Korea from an old transfer. In other words, it's a bootleg."

I'm pretty sure that my daughters picked it up at HMV,it appears to be a legitimate release the picture and sound quality is very good,it's in 5.1 dolby digital and DTS surround the cover you showed is quite different from my copy.I don't know if this will help but the bar code # is 94017 30159.This disc has all the Apple and United Artist's copyright logos and is stamped Collector Series 9 DTS.That's all the info I can provide, maybe if you tried CD Universe or HMV's websites you may find it.

I've never seen a legit dvd copy either.

In a way, i can't blame them (or i can understand, at least) why
they still won't release it, as it really is a pretty depressing film.

I still have a good bootleg VHS copy, but i rarely watch it & when i do
i'm reminded of how negative, sad & depressing the whole thing feels.

Definitely interesting as a document & all that, but
i'm not that into watching cinema verite of people
breaking up, which is what LET IT BE is, ultimately.

That's not to say i wouldn't go out & buy it, you understand... i would. ;)

But i get why they still haven't given it the treatment.

Paul & Ringo especially have always been all
about their whole Peace & Love thing anyway.

I probably wouldn't want a film of my break up
to be remastered & rereleased either.

Just my take on it...
