Just wondered who has a DSLR, what brand, and do you like it?

I currenty have a Fuji S5200 (non SLR) which I truly like, but am thinking of making the jump to DSLR.

Have been looking at the Canon Rebel XSi.
Also the T1i, but that is a couple hundred more.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

We use the Canon line of bodies.
Going backwards in the digital line
eos 5d, rebel xti, 20d
Prior to that when film was in use for small format were the eos 1n, 10s, rebelg.

Going forward 5d-mkii's will be in use in time for the 2010 wedding season.

The rebel xsi or t1i would both be very good bodies to begin with.
Also possibly the 50d though it is much more expensive than the xsi body,
it is more solidly built.

Do you think it has changed for the worse because of the digital tech? I'm curious for your opinion on that.
I personally think the pictures I shot with my old AE1 Program are much higher quality then anything digital I have seen so far.

Nikon D50. Had it since 2006 and I still love it.

We use Nikon D 80s and 90s, in the School day biz. I have 2 D 80s that have over 100,000 shots still going strong, these cameras are good horses! We normaly retire them after 50K.

I use a Canon EOS 30D for work. (Also use it out of work - saves me buying one myself :D ). Haven't felt the need to upgrade for more megapixels yet. I frequently print at 20"x30" with no problems. I use the Canon L-series 24-70 and 24-105IS lenses. My wife has a Nikon D50.

My best advice when buying a DLSR outfit (or any SLR for that matter) is spend the most money on the Lenses. I'd rather miss out on some camera features and get an awesome lense. I used to work in photographic retail and the number of people who'd come in and spend literally thousands on a top of the line Nikon or Canon and then buy the cheapest entry level lense for it. Sheesh!

Cheers.
