I don't have any really expensive gear.

I would love to have a nice Fender tube amp one of these days. Also a Gibson Les Paul goldtop. A nice American Strat, my current favorite is the 62 Hotrod in Sherwood Green, would also be on my wish list.

I have a lot of fun with what I do have though. I just started jamming with other guys after playing on and off for over 20 years :D .

This spring I attend Gear Fest at Sweetwater and most of the major instrument manufacturers were there. Gibson had some trailers set up so that you could try anything that you wanted. Anyway I tried a CS-336 and I could not believe it was me playing it. I went though and play it three different times. I have be yearning ever since. Figure top maple and kind of expensive.

As for amps, perhaps some kind of plexi sound...I have the Hiwatt sound (the Reinhardt Fat Albert), the TW sound (Diana, my Rocket clone), and the Dumble sound (the Carol-Ann OD2 100). Other than those few items, I'm all set (for now)..remember though...check my signature!

Well, the plexi sound came sooner than I thought...I bought a 1971 Marshall Super Lead 100w. This is both to be played and as an investment, eventually to be Mike's. Mostly original, including the trannies, it used to be owned by Fred Taccone of Divided By 13, who made some minor, reversible mods, and I got it from a musician in LA...some photos by the current owner

I'm content with what I have, but if I was to ever get some more toys, I would love to get a Gibson Melody Maker Re-Issue w/ Sunburst finish and a 1960's Fender Strat re-Issue in either a Artic White or Pelham Blue finish with a Rose wood Fretboard w/ Duncan Vintage Pups! As far as amps go, I'd like to get my hands on a new Marshall MG100FX series IV, which I've heard nothing but good reviews about.

I've also heard great things about those amps. Anyone here tried one?

I tried it when I bought my Marshall MG15CDR practice amp amd I can tell you it is one smooth baby to play through...great tone and nice bite when cranked up!

Still looking for a small vintage Fender amp, i.e. Vibro Champ, Princeton Reverb, maybe even a Bronco. Remember those?

I need to buy some recording equipment like a good pre-amp and maybe a compressor. Also, I might skip some of the hardware and buy high(er) end plug-ins instead.

I would love to have (but most likely will never get) list:

1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom in ebony, in mint condition

an original "Black Guard" Telecaster

1959 Gibson Les Paul re issue

Fender Blues Jr. (so I can practice at lower volumes through a nice tube amp), this one is probable that I can get

last, I wish I could have back a sweet Gibson Flying V Standard in heritage cherry that i got rid of a while back. Man was I stupid.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have some nice gear already:
guitars:

1983 Gibson Explorer 1 in Ebony / mahogany body / maple neck-rosewood fretboard
1997 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in Vintage White / maple neck-fretboard
1999 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in Purple Metallic / maple neck-rosewood fretboard
2004 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in Butterscotch Blonde over Ash body / maple neck-fretboard
2007-08 B.C. Rich Assassin , maple neck thru mahogany body / ebony fretboard

amps:

very early Peavey 5150 (all the BIG sound that I'll ever need
Ibanez T65 toneblaster (low volume practice and has headphone jack for when the kids are asleep)

effects:

Boss Metal Zone pedal (never really use it though)

so anyways, I have plenty and feel blessed so I have no complaints.

I don't actually need anything. But, I'm gassin' really bad for a Blues Junior. I have a Vox AC30 (a real one) and a 59 Bassman R.I. But, I would like to have something I can just pick up and go with. The other two are just a bit too large for that.

The arsenal could stand another Tele. An American Standard perhaps, with a maple neck. Another Gibson ES-335 with either a walnut or cherry finish would be nice also. But, I don't look to be acquiring one of those anytime very soon.

I'd love to add some sort of Telecaster to my collection.
