Mine would have to be a knopfler strat. Its just a red 62 RI with tex spesh's in. Get that signature off the headstock and it'd be just like having a regular guitar.

I was offered one of these last week, £1250 seemed a good price. I just couldn't justify it (or afford it!) nice guitar though. I'm with you on the sig Ninja Image

Guys one of the good things about the Knopfler Strat is that the signature on the headstock is not legible. The average person would never know its an artist series guitar.

Anyone with a soft-v and 12" radius.

I'd have to say the Merle Haggard Tele and The Martin Eric Clapton used on the Unplugged album.

As odd as it might seem.. I'd say this one.

Personally, I could care less who owned what. I'd simply want the most valuable one out there so I could unload it for the most megabucks. I'd then acquire a few high-end guitars and have them all spec'd out to MY exacting requirements. Best of all, I'd still have plenty of money left over. YMMV.

Rory Gallagher's Strat.......but I would NEVER keep it..... I'd make sure his brother Donal would get it.

Of course, Martian. So would almost any reasonable person. Just so happens that the ownership chain of the most expensive guitar probably has a lot to do with its value relative to the others. I suspect we are all looking at it the same thing. I am looking at it exactly as you are, anyway. I dont really care to own any of the guitars I listed, except to the extent I believe they would still apreciate in value. In the end, the reason to own these is to sell them.

What you said!!

I agree as well with what's being said. I think if I'm going to make a decision like this (although it's still hypothetical) I want a guitar that's recognizable on world-wide scale, and needs no description.

I'd get B.B. King's Lucille

I would love a Clapton Strat -- the original one with The Lace Sensor P/U's. Would like a Fender Robben Ford sig model, too.
