Guys, I just have to vent! I love this forum, and I absolutely love Fender!!! But I am really tired of the whiners on the TDPRI site complaining about the Fender prices. IMHO I feel that Fender prices are fair! Period. I love all my Fenders in fact they are the only guitars I play by choice. I feel the quality is fantastic and I am honored to be able to play one. I just hate these guys who want a CS Fender or a 52 RI and think that they should only be charged like around $500 for them. Sorry, I just had to vent and get this off my chest. To the folks at Fender...keep up the good work!

Yeah, Fender's prices are cool with me too. If one wants it cheaper, buy one used, there are many beautiful instruments in mint condition to be had for very attractive prices. That being said, a $500 52 RI would make me a very happy man.

Agreed.
The great thing (IMHO anyway) about Fender is that they have a good product at just about any price point. Sure I'd love to be able to get a 52RI Tele or a Deluxe Strat but realistically they are out of my price range. Luckily the standard MIM Tele I bought plays, looks, and sounds great and I'm happy with that. At the moment I have an itch for a Strat. Now I'd love to get a Classic player but I can't justify (to myself OR my wife) to spend nearly $2000AUD on one. Luckily the Squier CV or VM Strats (which only cost about $650AUD) are also great looking and sounding guitars and I'll probably get one of those.

The other great thing about them is that you can get a cheaper model and gradually build it up into something really special.

people should just get on with it and PLAY!
Cheers.

http://www.tdpri.com/

Telecaster Discussion Page Re-Issue

A dedicated Telecaster forum (who also have a Strat section).

Very good resource for all things Tele as well as amps, effects, DIY etc.

Cheers.

airbornestrat,

This is what I love about FMIC. They have a guitar for just about any price range. I do not think they are over-priced (although I wish I could afford some of their expensive models). You get what you pay for in an instrument. There are other name brand companies to get a quality guitar you have to drop at least a grand, not for a FMIC guitar.

Thanks RK, I feel the same way! I love Fender...everything about them and I will never play a different brand. The quality is just too good as are the prices! Again...JMO. Would I love to have a CS Tele absolutely...right now..it is a little out of my price range so I will save and eventually get one. That is the beauty of it..dreaming about it working hard for it and then...OWNING it :D

I agree with you in that I am also a big Fender enthusiast. My problem with the price increases has been that they jumped way too much in one increase. I was just about to buy a 57 VR at about 1,300. Then all of a sudden they were over 1,800. That put it out of the range I was willing to accept. I think there were many of us who had similar plans, but were changed by the huge increase. That was why I bought the Mark Knopfler Strat when Musicans Friend ran it at more than half off. I'd still like to have a 57 VR, but now the only way it will happen is if Musicians Friend runs some kind of a Fender Friday deal on it.

Here is a link to a very nice CS Tele in Candy Tangerine. I saw this guitar in action a couple of weeks ago. It is one sweet looking and sounding Tele.
