Midnight at the oasis
Send your camel to bed
Shadows paintin' our faces
Traces of romance in our heads

Heaven's holdin' a half-moon
Shinin' just for us
Let's slip off to a sand dune, real soon
And kick up a little dust

Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, 'til the evenin' ends
'Til the evenin' ends

You don't have to answer
There's no need to speak
I'll be your belly dancer, prancer
And you can be my sheik

I know your Daddy's a sultan
A nomad known to all
With fifty girls to attend him, they all send him
Jump at his beck and call

But you won't need no harem, honey
When I'm by your side
And you won't need no camel, no no
When I take you for a ride

Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, 'til the evenin' ends
'Til the evenin' ends

Midnight at the oasis
Send your camel to bed
Got shadows paintin' our faces
And traces of romance in our heads

That song is the basis for one of my favorite scenes from Waiting for Guffman. 8)

what do you guys feel are the most overplayed rock songs or bands in general? mine would be:

Song: Smells Like Teen Spirit

Band: Led Zeppelin (awesome rock band but pretty much ever single song is played to death)

I don't here probably 90% of led zeppelin's songs on the radio and barely anyone has even heard of them at my school

yea honestly, to everyone who says Zeppelin is overrated: i'm tired of hearing it. please consider withdrawing your remarks until you get educated. most people who say crap like that only know the same old stuff that gets played on the radio over and over again. all the popped-collar toolbags hanging out at happy hour think they know music because they know "stairway" or "black dog". of course you're gonna be sick of it, you hear the same old songs day in day out, and in the process, you lose any interest in hearing what else they offer, which is very unfair. many people have no idea how truly awesome these guys were as musicians.

ever hear...
Down By the Seaside?
In the Evening?
Carouselambra?
Out on the Tiles?
Wanton Song?
Lemon Song?
Battle of Evermore?
Black Mountain Side?
Travelin Riverside Blues?
Woman with long black curly hair? (i think i got that worded wrong)
Boogie with Stu?
I Gotta Move?
The Crunge?
I'm gonna Crawl?
Rain Song?
Tea for One?
Achilles Last Stand?
Royal Orleans?
The Crunge?
Your Time is Gonna Come?

there's plenty more. if you answered "No" to at least 50% of the above, then kindly Shut Up. thanks

travelin' riverside blues, the rain song, achilles last stand, your time is gonna come, wanton song, and black mountain slide are played a lot down here on classic rock stations, along with stairway, the ocean, over the hills, black dog, what should and should not be, ramble on, heartbreaker, and many many many other of their hits. and i am very familiar with Zeppelin's other work considering i have of all their albums. im just saying whats overplayed down here on the CT classic rock radio stations.

interesting...what station is it? i'd like to look into it, sounds cool

WPLR and 95.9 The Fox

Lady GaGa--I'm sick of hearing her.

I just don't like most of the modern bands anymore. They all sound the same.

Blame our record producers and American Idol for that one

I blame the idiots who buy it because without them there is no market for it.

Yeah, as much as they should be blamed for something, Lady GaGa was not a contestant on American Idol, though may have just performed as a guest on the show once, but I don't know why American Idol should be blamed for that....I mean to me you might as well say anyone who loves or plays poker is to blame for Lady GaGa's success since she had that one song Poker Face...

OK I agree with all of the songs so far
LZ- Stairway
LS- Sweet Home and Free Bird
Beatles- A day and Yesterday
Rolling Stones- Gimme and Sympathy and Honky Tonk
Kinks- Lola
Doors- LA Woman
Aerosmith- Dream On
The Band- The Weight
Queen- Bohemian
Mettalica- Sandman
DEf Leppard- Pour Some Sug
too many to list, but now I'm thinkin' Its my hearing them constantly for all of this time because if you list them all its the rotation for every classic rock station.

you're right dude, down here thers one station that plays the same LZ songs and LS songs over and over. Now they're trying to mix in some of the new hard rock stuff and overplaying the new bands that i like
