EVERY SINGLE SONG on the first Boston album is totally played out.

I loved both "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" when they first came out, but at this point don't ever have to hear them again.

But the SINGLE MOST played out song EVER has to be "Takin' Care of Business" by BTO.

I don't here probably 90% of led zeppelin's songs on the radio and barely anyone has even heard of them at my school

yea honestly, to everyone who says Zeppelin is overrated: i'm tired of hearing it. please consider withdrawing your remarks until you get educated. most people who say crap like that only know the same old stuff that gets played on the radio over and over again. all the popped-collar toolbags hanging out at happy hour think they know music because they know "stairway" or "black dog". of course you're gonna be sick of it, you hear the same old songs day in day out, and in the process, you lose any interest in hearing what else they offer, which is very unfair. many people have no idea how truly awesome these guys were as musicians.

ever hear...
Down By the Seaside?
In the Evening?
Carouselambra?
Out on the Tiles?
Wanton Song?
Lemon Song?
Battle of Evermore?
Black Mountain Side?
Travelin Riverside Blues?
Woman with long black curly hair? (i think i got that worded wrong)
Boogie with Stu?
I Gotta Move?
The Crunge?
I'm gonna Crawl?
Rain Song?
Tea for One?
Achilles Last Stand?
Royal Orleans?
The Crunge?
Your Time is Gonna Come?

there's plenty more. if you answered "No" to at least 50% of the above, then kindly Shut Up. thanks

travelin' riverside blues, the rain song, achilles last stand, your time is gonna come, wanton song, and black mountain slide are played a lot down here on classic rock stations, along with stairway, the ocean, over the hills, black dog, what should and should not be, ramble on, heartbreaker, and many many many other of their hits. and i am very familiar with Zeppelin's other work considering i have of all their albums. im just saying whats overplayed down here on the CT classic rock radio stations.

Most overplayed song: Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses (even though I love them).

Most overplayed band: was Nirvana, now it's Kings of Leon

I would say Smells Like Teen Spirit. As far as the Zep overplay the funny thing is they only had one top ten song=Whole Lot Of Love and Stairway was never even a single..It might be only now with condensed classic rock stations that a lot of there songs get played but when they were in there prime they were strictly an album band that never charted singles. Not only that but the critics used to roast them. Funny how they are faves of the critics 20 years later because they sure were not in there prime.

Most overplayed song in my opinion would be Sweet Home Alabama.
Band would probaly have to be Lynyrd Skynrd.

Another overplayed song would have to be Crazy Train. The rock stations around here air it at least 3 or 4 times in any given 24 hour period.

I tend to agree with msvolpe on the Zeppelin issue and also with straycat113. Zeppelin was an aquired taste in the 70's. Not for everybody. In the 80's some of their songs became more well known and in the 90's those songs began to be overplayed. Zep recorded a LOT of songs and the small handful that people are growing tired of are not representative of the entire catalog.

OK I agree with all of the songs so far
LZ- Stairway
LS- Sweet Home and Free Bird
Beatles- A day and Yesterday
Rolling Stones- Gimme and Sympathy and Honky Tonk
Kinks- Lola
Doors- LA Woman
Aerosmith- Dream On
The Band- The Weight
Queen- Bohemian
Mettalica- Sandman
DEf Leppard- Pour Some Sug
too many to list, but now I'm thinkin' Its my hearing them constantly for all of this time because if you list them all its the rotation for every classic rock station.

In my opinion, the stations over here don't really over-play a particular song. Although, on the crappy "now" stations, which I only hear when I seek through the stations to get to my most frequented one, I hear almost constantly "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz.
I mean, I like the song, but JUST GIVE IT A REST.
Yeesh.

The most played band, in my book, is Led Zeppelin. But I love Zep, so I ain't complainin'. :P

Lady GaGa--I'm sick of hearing her.

I just don't like most of the modern bands anymore. They all sound the same.

Heres one that will stick in your head like glue!!!!

Midnight at the oasis
Send your camel to bed
Shadows paintin' our faces
Traces of romance in our heads

Heaven's holdin' a half-moon
Shinin' just for us
Let's slip off to a sand dune, real soon
And kick up a little dust

Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, 'til the evenin' ends
'Til the evenin' ends

You don't have to answer
There's no need to speak
I'll be your belly dancer, prancer
And you can be my sheik

I know your Daddy's a sultan
A nomad known to all
With fifty girls to attend him, they all send him
Jump at his beck and call

But you won't need no harem, honey
When I'm by your side
And you won't need no camel, no no
When I take you for a ride

Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, 'til the evenin' ends
'Til the evenin' ends

Midnight at the oasis
Send your camel to bed
Got shadows paintin' our faces
And traces of romance in our heads

I guess I'm old enough to admit it now. I liked this one in the 70's and still like it today. Theres just something about her voice. :)
