A few months ago i found a white mustang in a local store. it was beat up and i felt it was overpriced for its condition so i let it go... but i felt so drawn to that guitar and im so mad i let it get away from me. when i played it i felt very comfortable, almost as if the guitar was supposed to be mine. every mustang iv played has been like this, its just 'perfect' for me, like it fits my being almost. i know this sounds sappy and borderline weird but bear with me.

the question, have any of you found, played, owned, lost, etc. that 'perfect' guitar? if so, what was it? what color? whats its name? gota pic? lets hear about it!

let the posting begin!

Its not soppy or weird at all.

Thankfully I still have Lexi in my possession. She was made for me!

I don't know if I've ever come across a perfect guitar, but I definately know it when I find a good one. :) I've played a lot of good guitars that I like but there are a few that just floored me. My Fender is one such guitar.

I always say if you find a guitar that "speaks" to you, you need to buy it. I have only played 3 guitars that I did not buy after they spoke to me. I do not regret not geting them, but wished I could have.

1. One was a late 1980's (I think '87) Fender Strat HM series--all black, very nice.
2. One was a Jackson V--Year of model is unknown, again played it in the late 80's. It was a used guitar.
3. Last one was just recently--1993 Fender Stratocaster. I passed it up to save my money for a new tube amp which I am still saving for.

I share your feelings about a Mustang. While Tele's are my main love, my Mustang is ALWAYS perched on its stand next to the amp, ready for action. I have a 95 MIM Strat that somebody hotrodded that I found in a pawnshop that I kinda favor too.

A Tele always feels right to me and is my main go-to guitar. Any Tele. I love 'em and can't get enough of how they feel, sound and play.

I am starting to get the itch for a Gretsch 6120. Either a Chet Atkins, Nashville or a Brian Setzer model.

Hmm... you know, a White Falcon or a White Penguin would be a life time keeper as well...

Great Collection GregBluesJr! I played one of these last week at the pawn shop;http://www.shopatron.com/products/productdetail/2008+Playboy+Covers+Collage+Guitar/part_number=PBE-CC2/726.0.1.1.31157.31167.0.0.0?, it was a surprise because it almost felt like I was playing a Tele in a LP body, the pawn shop owner is asking 5 hundo cheap at the price with all the identifiers included.

I've never played a perfect guitar, but my HSS Deluxe American Stratocaster and an American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster are as close as I can get. :]

I'd like to play a PRS and see how that sounds and feels...

Not a sappy question at all. That "perfect feel" is such a subjective thing, one person loves what the other finds uncomfortable as hell. Guitars are just as individual as people.

My "fits my being" guitar is my 1978 Musicmaster bass. I started playing bass in the early 90's, this was in the days before the internet. I owned several different basses, Fender and Ibanez. But they were all so heavy and bulky feeling for me. To be honest, I'm short/5'6", and have small hands so the basses just seemd monstrous size.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a short scale bass, once I played my Musicmaster it just felt right, complete, whatever you want to call it.

I felt similar about my Montara and spent a year 1/2 tracking down one I could afford, but that Musicmaster was the most "fits my being."

My perfect guitar/bass?

It's my first and second ones. A Washburn XB-100 and a Tele with 'ROBOTS EAT BABIES' written on it

I think I've mentioned this on another thread a while back.... One of my first guitars was a 1965 Mustang I bought used around 1972 or so. It was all original natural finish with the grey tweed hard case. I was in high school at the time.

I sold it to a friend of mine in the mid 80's thinking I wasn’t going to play anymore. I think I sold it and an old amp for a total of of $200 bucks. I have regretted that every day since. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of it either.
