Hands down these two ladies doing back up for the Black Crowes are the best back up singers by far.

Emylou Harris, Joe Perry and Ann Wilson ... backup singers. Yah I see where you guys are goin' with that and let's also say Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi and Dimebag were all really great rhythm players but they didn't wanna make it cry or sing.

Gotta give credit to the 4 who sing back up for James Taylor. I think it is still the same group he has had for many years consisting of:
Arnold McCuller, Kate Markowitz, David Lasley, and I cant think of the other female singers name, but what a great foursome.
