hey rudi ,Wolf M arshall just put out a Barney Kessel book its on guitarinstructors .com .Wolf is a great clinician and jazz guitarist .Hope this helps

All of his solo stuff is good, you might want to listen to his playing with groups as well:

Artie Shaw And His Gramercy Five, Artie Shaw And His Orchestra, Charlie Parker All-Stars, Charlie Parker's New All-Stars, Kid Ory And His Creole Jazz Band are good to start with. :wink:

I recommend Julie London's Julie is Her Name. It's worth the cost of the CD just to hear Kessel on "Cry Me a River."
