Hi guys!

Joe perry's tone is the one of my favorite tone. His main tone comes from his les paul(s) but in this video I couldn't belive that he uses a strat. And with a strat he had his exact tone that he had with les paul. I couldn't believe it.

Here is the video

Enjoy!

^^^Groovy pic, as I was just going to say that Joe Perry has been around so long, he's used just about everything at least once (I'm talking guitars here  ), even pointy BC Rich guitars, and there's your pic...TEAMWORK!

I saw Aerosmith when Pump came out at Jone Beach. One of the best shows I have ever seen and Perry played a different guitar on every song. He played over 20 + axes that night. He has one of the biggest guitar collections going with something like 300 plus guitars. You name it he plays it. He is also a star of such magnitude that even though he has an artist series Gibson he can play whatever he wants on stage. Just like when Clapton pulls out a Gibson.

I always wondered about that neck on Blackmore's guitar. For a short time in the '60s, Fender was considering using binding on the necks, and the Jazzmaster did get block inlays ... So I have thought it was a Jazzmaster neck put on the Strat body, but I don't know for sure.

I have some other better pics of that guitar I should find and check out.

Plausible. I have a japanese Jaguar reissue that has binding and blocks.

It could just be a custom inlay job though.

There's currently a MIJ "1966 Classic Reissue" Jazzmaster that has the bound neck with block inlays:

......and Knopfler's Strats', LP's, Pensa's all still yield that unique Knopfler tone.

I love me some of that Little Richard. One of my assistant's has just that style. What a personality. The guy can really make the day. Just keeps me laughing even when the going gets a bit testy.
