Niki must've got some sleep, I've been up all night again!

Anyone got a cure for Insomnia aside from passing out drunk?

Its a quarter to 6 here in the U.K., I've been up all night again and have to meet my band in the pub in 6 hours!!!

Aaaahhhh!!!!

I've had many sleep depived nights lately trying to get my 6 month old daughter to go to bed. One technique which seems to help with her: turning down all the lights and putting on my Paul Simon Greatest Hits CD. More often than not, she's out like a light by the time '50 Ways to Leave Your Lover' comes on.

:) Good luck! If it doesn't work, I suggest a couple quick shots of brandy (not a technique I'd try with my daughter of course!).

Hey CC (sorry I haven't answered your post on facebook  ).

What works for me is skipping every food with high energy (Carbs or sugar) in the evening. And couple of beers help to :) .
Also if the energy in your body is keeping you up why not do something that drains the energy out of the body. You know something like exercise or s e x 8)

On occasions like that, I find that a couple of Tylenol PMs do the trick!

You could also try melatonin, but expect extremely vivid dreams on it. Reading something boring has helped with some, ie some kind of manual or encyclopedia. Of course there is warm milk. Personally, I've found that a good day of manual labor and maybe a beer or two works best.

We're talking drug therapy here, the antihistamines for sedation but a lot of other stuff you really don't need. On carbs, as noted, high glycemic index foods may give you a sugar high. Stay away from anything caffeinated, that includes your coffees, colas and any 'bull' you may be drinking.

No lights, TV or noise in the environment. Careful with ambient temperature and what you are wearing. Close your eyes, focus on breathing slowly and easily, recall the most comfortable, relaxing experience you can retrieve from your memory, and let all the tension flow out of you.

If you don't have children make some it will drain you like you would not believe. That is why they say sleeping like a baby (and they are not talking about babies

Run/excercise = gives you a natural high (endorphins and all). Draw back is that you will not be able to play the blues. Yuo will be all hapy and sh..
and sleep well.

Become "Manuel Laboer" - my coworker came up with this "trench 90"
diet and exercise program where you take a showel and dig for 90 min
every day nex day you cover the trench.

All joke aside take care buddy, insomnia is dangerous.

Give me your address. I will send you some of the Army manuals I have to read everyday...talk about putting you to sleep fast...I am totally serious...some of this stuff should be sold at morons are us...really dry boring stuff...like...Managing Army Correspondance ...OMG this will kill off any awareness in your mind and body. On a serious note try and get it taken care of...we still have to get together either here or in Belfast and jam and raise all sorts of trouble!
