I use Logic with my Mac. So far it's really sweet! You could use any interface with it. I use the Apogee Duet, great for me playing around, but it's limited. The Duet only has 2 instrument inputs and 2 mic inputs.

You can use just about any audio interface with PC as well. I use a Edirol UA-4FX http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=758&ParentId=114.

But the amount of plug-ins for Logic is limited to AU format. Right?

Hey Tony, I don't know the answer to that, Im just learning... er playing around. I would think that there would be conversion software or something.
I am a true novice when it comes to home recording.
