It took me about 6 months to get a tune out of the thing when I was 12.... and I've been continuing learning for the next 33 years! :wink:

Stratu812 is right. You are always learning. There is such a great range of sound that come from the guitar that it may take a lifetime to experiment. Half of learning to play guitar is experimenting...I am all for breaking the "rules" of guitar, like where to keep your fingers, how to stand, or hold it...it's your form of art...do it how you will, learn how you want.

Hey I'm still learning. It usually takes approximately 6 months for someone to be efficient enough to play something that sounds like you meant it to sound that way. I've been hosting a jam night for about 15 years and I learn something every week. (I started playing in 1966)

In 1966 I was diggin on the Monkee's, Batman and the Beatles...not necessarily in that order. :lol: Didn't get my first axe until 1970.
