Although not practicable and off subject but I'd also love to have a Hammond B3 organ with a Leslie speaker. Hard to beat those 2 keyboard instruments. Old school!

How could you NOT have the B3? An absolutely amazing and distintive sound! (With the Leslie, of course.) It's kind of like the binder that pulls all the rest of the sound together. Does anyone understand what I mean when I say that?

Love the B3.

Yes!

it's amazing how all you need now is a midi controller and some vst plug-ins and you can emulate mellotrons, B3s, Rhodes, Moogs, baby grands, etc.

I am not really fond of all that technology in music. I like the REAL players and playing (Keith Emerson, Patrick Moraz, Jordan Rudess, Rick Wakeman, David Paich, to name just a few). I don't want a keyboard to play for me, so, I don't like those workstations much. I have them, though. Actually, they are my father's, but I do play them. Mostly without using much of its capabilities anyway. Just pianos. Sometimes I find myself playing around with drum patterns , but that's about it. I don't quiet understand that chord playing with your left hand either. I need to play bass myself. Counterpoint! Two completely different lines mixed together, so to speak. I'm obsessed with notes, harmony, melody... so I need 88 key keyboards. 61 is too little. 73...hm...could work, but 88 I need! Oh, yeah, and a sustain pedal!
And a strat!!! Strats! I love them!

Go for it. You'll be seeing music with many different eyes. Believe me, new horizons.
It doesn't have to be a Rhodes, take whatever you can.

I totally agree - on all points! Although I would be interested in Miami Mikes note about EMULATING a B3. Love to hear more about that Mike, but don't want to completely hijack this thread!

Greetings Earthlings-

I have an 88 note stage piano (reportedly owned by Seth Justman)

Also a green fiberglass student model.....it is cool..............

if anyone knows how to reach Seth (J.Geils Band)- I would like to return it to him if he wants it (nominal fee-maybe free tix or autograph !:)

As far as the 73 note green fiberglass - it works and is super groovy !

Anyone interested in the Boston area ( the 88) lemmme know in this forum---Seth? Seth? You out there Seth?

Very interesting....the Geils Band is performing on New Year's Eve at Mohegan Sun Arena in CT.

You might be able to reach him through this page :

The sound of the Fender is just as distinctive as the B3 it was the backbone of so many songs in the 60s&70s,I'd love to have one.I have a Yamaha PSR 38 that's supposed to be sampled from a Rhodes but regretably it dosen't sound like it.My ideal keyboard setup would be a B3 a Rhodes and an ARP Odessy.A couple of months ago I could have gotten an M3 (the baby B3)for $100 but it was too big for my music room.

Hi Goranm I would have taken it in a heartbeat but as it is my music room is overflowing with 24 guitars 3 keyboards and 8 amps also 2 large shelf units for my effects units and other gear. The only place it possibly could have gone is the living room and to do that would end up with me sharing accomodations with the dog(I guess any gear hoarder that's married can relate to that)anyway it broke my heart to have to do it,if I could have sold my other keyboards right away I would have gone for it.

Wow! I like it! I understand now!
Maybe you'll get another chance to buy one!

Cheers!

Goran
