How come no one mentions anything about Fender Rhodes pianos? This IS a Fender Lounge, isn't it!?
I've been playing piano since I was 8 years old, and I'm a classically trained piano player (as well as a guitar player), so I'm very interested in other Fender instruments. Other than guitars, I mean. I simply adore Fender, so...
I know there is a site dedicated only to those great pianos, but I see no reason why you shouldn't talk more about music in general.

Don't get me wrong, I love guitars! I only think it would be much more interesting that way.

Fender got out of electric piano biz for a while ,some guys still have the old ones .Rhoades has been making the pianos independent of FMIC, and from what I understand its still a good product. So even though it has come up a couple of times it is not a huge topic of conversation. Hope this helps

Yeah, I know the history of Rhodes, and I was referring to the old pianos.
Thanks for the information though! You inspired me to read it all over again.

I would love to own an old Fender Rhodes piano! They have a distinct sound.

That's what I'm talking about. The sound! Incredible! Bell like, just like a strat! Perfect fit for all kinds of music.
Some reverb, delay...oh boy... and in space you go! Who needs drugs when you have Fender! Now, that's a pure drug, right there! Fender!
Both, Rhodes and guitars. Amplifiers. Everything!

If I had money, I'd buy it myself. And find you one.

Although not practicable and off subject but I'd also love to have a Hammond B3 organ with a Leslie speaker. Hard to beat those 2 keyboard instruments. Old school!

It's the subject alright!
Couldn't agree more! I'm 24, and I don't like sinthesizers (I hope I spelled it right). Too computerized.

Well, I've had a Rhodes in the past and currently have a Chroma Polaris.

The Chroma Polaris was the second synthesizer made by Fender/Rhodes after they took over ARP, following their classic Rhodes Chroma.

I have Technics pr50 digital ensemble, and the sound of the piano you wouldn't believe how real it is. The acoustic piano, sampled Steinway. And the action...ah! There is an incredible Rhodes like electric piano. I love it with lots of reverb and delay. But I sure would love to play (and own) the real one.
The old stuff!!! With soul.

The FR defined the sound of 70s and 80s jazz.Mainly the CTI records with Herbie Handcock ,Chick Corea, Jan Hammer, Joe Sample ,Ramsey Lewis,.Last time I saw one was at the Steely Dan Show its all Fagen played. +1 on the B3 fhop. Unfortunatly these vintage instruments are hard to find and very expensive

When I saw Steely Dan two years ago, Fagen used all Nord keyboards and his Hohner Melodica.

Stevie Wonder was the first that I ever saw playing one and McCartney had his all psychedelic covered on the last tour.

How could you NOT have the B3? An absolutely amazing and distintive sound! (With the Leslie, of course.) It's kind of like the binder that pulls all the rest of the sound together. Does anyone understand what I mean when I say that?

Love the B3.
