And let the outcry begin!!!! Every top free agent goes to one of three teams because they have a market large enough to support spending. They may not win every year but they alway have the best chances to do so and maintain the team for years. One day the other owners in ball will get there head out of there $@! and let the players strike and force a salary cap like Football. Small market teams can never build a dynasty when there top player come to his last year under contract and they have no chance to retain him.
You can't blame the players, any of us would go to the money. Its time the owners take on the players union and admit the luxury tax was a joke . Make the teams operate under equal budgets like football. If you want a dynasty in football it takes skill and player planing from the front office not a big wallet and just buying the best as it come available. Ask yourself why does the baseball draft gets so little hype as to football? Ask yourself what does the franchise tag do for football?
The way baseball is today you can predict who will be competing next year already and who won't. You may see one or two teams have a flash year and may compete but will not contend the following year for there ability to maintain there talent beyond one or two years will not happen.
It all comes down to Baseball is in sad shape while football is all the rage.

So, in your summary, you're saying that football is better than baseball?

Spending money is no guarantee of a World Series title or even a division or league championship. Look at Pavano...they spent 30 million on him for 1 year; nothing to sneeze at; what a waste that was. The Yankees are a team that is relentless; they never give up; and they played good, tough teams getting to the championship.

It was a good series. Actually I'm amazed the Phillies made it as far as they did. Good stuff. No real outcry, I'm not a huge sports fan. It is a fact that the more money your club has, the better ballplayers you can afford. No it doesn't always work out, but the odds are much better.

Congrats to the Yankees.
