Jazz scales are a little different, lots of stuff in b-flat, but that should be pretty easy to pickup if you know your scales. The biggest thing is probably learning to finger pick. You'll use a combination of regular and finger picking for jazz.

Give a listen to some famous guys: John McLauglin, Jim Hall, Pat Martino, Grant Green, Mike Stern ...

You are bound to find something there to inspire your playing.

My other guitar is a Strat.

I have a jazz station on Pandora.com (try it, it's great and FREE!)

I think if you're familiar with a piano, it's a little easier to understand the theory behind the different styles of jazz (BeBop, Swing, etc).
