Hey guys, I'm starting to become a bit of a fan of EH's stuff.

I was just wondering who else here uses their stuff?
Whats the general opinion?
Anyone got any rare wee gems?

Thank you!

CC

Back in the 70s, I used to have a couple of their devices (LPB-1, Big Muff) I think they were the first to use germanium transistors in their products.

Can you tell me a bit about it?
Whats it like? What you use it with/for?

Cheers,

I used to use lot's of their stuff in the 70's. I had a muff fuzz that was a little box you plugged into your guitar and it had one knob on it. I also had a couple of Big Muffs, a Black Finger and I also use to use two LPB1 power boosters with one driving the other for overdrive. Years ago they weren't too sturdy or consistent, but they were cheap and cool sounding.

I like the idea of doubling up the LPB-1.
Howd that workout for you man? What was it like?

It was a little noisy, but hey, it was the 70's. You controlled the overall volume with the second and the amount of drive you wanted with the first.
I thought it was pretty cool.

My electro Harmonix Germanium Overdrive. I use it for....overdrive:P

I use it for a really classic fuzzy overdrive to it. Great organic chunk. Not super heavy-handed like most OD. Very cool lofi chug.

Sounds cool. When I said 'for' I meant what style of music.

Cheers!

Celtic if you like that off the wall EH stuff please buy one of this guy's fuzz's.

http://www.projectguitarparts.co.uk/Pages/burfordfx.html

Honestly mate you dont know what your missing. If you want generic buy boss, digitech or those ridiculously priced boutique pedals that all sound the same. Just tell Alan that Nick sent you. I've honestly never heard anything like his overdrives. I currently use his mosquito octave fuzz. I cant see me changing it out anytime soon.

[EDIT]

I'm not including EH in the ridiculously overpriced boutique pedals category. I genuinely like EH stuff. The electric mistress is one of my alltime faves

I own a American and a Russian Big Muff and use them to play Floyd type music, plus others. Niki's friend makes some excellent stuff. If Niki tells me something I tend to believe him!!

The Mosquito sounds awesome! I have to give it a go!

Have I seen that Brit Boost one in Guitarist magazine before?

OH yeah, I use my LB Muff for Floyd too.

I really do like the quirkyness of EH's stuff.
