Hey guys, I've been playing around with my pedal board for a while now. I cant decide what should some 1st- The Little Big Muff or the Boss FDR-1?

I like the sounds of both and the FDR-1 gives the Muff a nice push with extra Reverb when its before the Muff.
Although the other way round its similar but with extra reverb when the Muffs in but different...........@*%$!!!....

....I'm getting my head into another pickle. Any opinions would be more than welcome or even some guidance.

Thanks again

CC

Well mate the FDR1 is primarily a amp simulation pedal, not a drive pedal. So putting the drive pedal (i.e muff) into it seems the right way to go to me.

I honestly think pedals like the FDR1 need to bypass the front end of your amp/combo and just go direct into the poweramp. This can be acheived by plugging your guitar into the FDR1 input and taking the output of the FDR1 and plugging it directly into the effects return of your amp. All those boss/fender pedals sound stunning to me when rigged up that way. The reason being your amp cant colour them that much with its own sound from its eq and drive. No manufacturer gives that tip out, its not the same as plugging into the effects loop cos your completely bypassing your amps input stage. All you have to do is remember that the pedal is now your amps front end and control the eq, gain and volume from the pedal. Put modulation effects after the pedal and drive effects infront of it.

Its the only real way to use amp sims on a regular amplifier.

Anyway. Celtic Cylconus, I must have missed it - how did your gig Saturday night go? You had three hours to fill, if I recall...?

Cheers - C
