...Now there is one name here that I didn't see mentioned that I also think is very note worthy...Buddy Guy. I think it was Robert Cray who said "Buddy was psychedelic long before anyone knew what psychedelic was". I really think Buddy took "the blues" to a whole new level...just some really wonderful stuff with Buddy Guy.

You just beat me too it! I was just about to say, I recently 'discovered' Buddy Guy and he's a great blues player... he's got that great blues instinct for making a few notes say so much... perfect timing and feel. 8)

I also recently also discovered that a 1981 Aria Pro II CS 350 is a great guitar for playin' the blues!! http://guitar-collector.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=202

Wow...what a coincidence. I was actually just looking at a couple of Aria Pro's a few weeks ago when I bought my MIJ. There were actually 2 or 3 at the shop where I bought my MIJ and it had surprised me a bit. There was this moment of "yea...I remember those...". I remember those things from the mid 80's...I think I even played one or two back then, but I hadn't seen one in a number of years so to see more than one sitting in a shop kind of caught me off guard.

Kind of funny after not having thought about those in so long that shortly after seeing a couple in a store, that someone should pop up here with one as well. Weird :-).

As far as the Buddy Guy stuff...I had actually discovered him quite a while ago...I was really floored the first time I heard his album "Damn Right I've Got The Blues". It was really some amazing playing and a very different sound from a lot of the other blues I had been listening too back then. Then I hadn't really listened to a lot of his stuff for the longest time until I got a copy of Clapton's Crossroads Festival, and I really fell in love with Buddy's playing all over again. He really is an amazing guitarist and watching him in that concert...he really reminds me of BB in that he just really looks like one of those people who simply loves what he's doing. A truly wonderful showman!

Peace,
Jim
