this popped in my head....so what are some of your fav back up bands (i.e. The Heartbreakers, the Crickets) mine would be The Heartbreakers with Tom Petty

The Shadows (Cliff Richards backing band) later a force on their own. Very tasty riffs on a Strat from Mr. Hank Marvin.

Hands down for me the- E street Band. Bruce you should still feel ashamed of yourself for not having them inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame with you. Tom Petty and Elvis Costello (who had not played with the Attractions in almost two decades) showed real class and loyalty.
