Any songwriters want to join? I started writing original songs when we decided to record our first CD 'Prime Cut Blues'. It had five songs I wrote.

I had only written two other songs before when I was in BLACKMALE back in the late '70s. We got good reviews because of our original songs, and sold all 1500 copies of 'Prime Cut Blues'.

Our second CD will be all originals, we've been the songs live now for quite a time and people seem to really like them.

So my aim here is to foster songwriting, if you write, you have a better chance of getting signed.

I write but my musings are way out there, think Jim Morrison. Problem for me is getting music to the words. Still working on it.

Morrison's words were fabulous.

They were fabulous but the time was right for him. I was born too late or too early, still can't tell.

It could be time again. There has to be a first to do it.

Do it! Good songs never die. There is major blues artist who has options (meaning that I don't send them out) on two of my songs :!:

I use to right poems in high school, english/literature class. The teacher used to love me and never once gave me a failing grade.

Problem is I just couldn't put music on them, my BIL on the other hand is the complete package.

I find it easier to write the music and lyrics at the same time.

That's what I do now, it's always with a clean sheet of paper, pencil, guitar and The Rhyme Zone http://www.rhymezone.com/ loaded on my computer.

Well, I do some writing. Over the last couple of months, it's starting to take off on me. I've had a few songs that I'm really proud of, and of course I have several others that are excuses to wank on my Strat.

I don't think I'll ever get signed, but there's a great amount of satisfaction that comes from singing my own stories/thoughts/feelings.
