i recently (last night) picked up an old teisco guitar. it is from the late 60's and in pretty good condition... i plugged it in and the tone and volume responded well and the pickup sounded great. I stripped it because i am painting another guitar at a body shop i tinker at on the weekends so i figured why not shoot them both at the same time. Anyone a fan of the old teisco guitars?
As a side note i think i am going to shoot it either in Aqua with bright orange race stripes or a candy apple red with an INSANE amount of metallic in them. what would your color choice from the two i listed be?

I would have left the finish alone. I've had a few Teisco's in my day. I think they sound great. The Del Rey was awesome.

I would have left it as is but this one is not a super sought after one and the finish is pretty rough. I know what you mean, keeping it original is always best but part of the reason i got this one was to restore it with new paint.

Hello Zenbone,

I like teisco guitars, never owned one though.
Some nice model are bringing pretty respectable dollars.
Quite a few folks are into the teisco sound and pickups are
are being seperated out, but not only for tone,--- cool looks too.

Cheers.

I like the idea of aqua with bright orange stripes.

First bass, a sharp-horned metallic blue 3/1 headstock.

$52 in a burb of Chicago, new in '68.

'Did not play or sound too bad, tho a couple of the heads broke...pot metal.
