Not to mention whoever that dude who did the Champ video here is great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC_Ebs_8OnA&feature=related. Don't just have a bunch of SRV style blues solo demos either. Fender needs to have this kind of stuff ALL OVER the site.

That's Fender graphic designer Rick Heins who happens to sit right next to me -- I'll show him your comment when he returns from lunch as I'm sure it'll make his day! Rick and I are both very big proponents of showing products being used outside of the typical 'blues box' so I'm really glad to see that you picked up on that. Rick's also the lead guitarist in my band, for what it's worth. :-)

Brad,
Most of my thoughts have been voiced here. You might want to look Wildwood Guitars website and take some cues from them. I think they do an exceptional job in the photography dept. and offer front, back, and side to side views.

I go there often to view the next violin burst custom shop thin skin nitro American Classic Strat to hang on my wall and my shoulders.

Haha! That's awesome, Brad! I indeed liked that demo because it shows what the amp can actually do beyond just the "blues box," as you put it. I really liked what he was doing there. I'm not a blues player myself so those kind of demos are useless to me. Some is ok, but it seems like every youtube review/demo out there is just an SRV wannabe. The funniest is when you watch a +5 minute long demo of an overdrive pedal and the player doesn't even strum a few chords and let them ring out even once.

Ok I know this isnt products section related but....

How about a lesson/lick upload section. Theres so many different nations here, with their own national styles of music. Playing from nation to nation must be somewhat influenced by the various traditional forms of music. I know sites like harmony central have tab uploads but its nothing more than a excuse for them to bash eachother. Non of their tabs are bang on anyway from what I can make of em, they all seem a little off (or maybe its me). So maybe disallow copyrighted songs being tabbed. Just keep it to favourite licks in music score and tab.

I like this idea too Nik.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but a pic of the case that comes with a particular guitar would be cool too. & Even a shot of the git in the case.

There is indeed a TON of good info and suggestions on all of these pages.

The only stuff that I would like to see are photos of every item like you find on possibly musicans friend, horizontal/enlarged/multiple angles etc. You get a very clear idea of what the item looks like from all angles.

As for a product suggestion, I know this sounds trivial but all of the Fender tshirts, the three Test drive ones I have, and the one other that I purchased are "short" I have XL's in these when I have Large in all my other shirts but the Fender ones are about one inch shorter from collar to bottom hem, so they don't stay tucked in. Like I said, a pet peeve that probably only bugs me but they don't stay tucked in because they're short so I don't wear them much. And after all, the idea to providing the shirts is for people to wear them and advertise your stuff, right?

And I would love to see a complete history of guitar models on when they were manufactured, where, how long, etc. When I finally located my Montara acoustic and contacted Fender to get some info, nothing on here, and when I called, nothing again. I needed a new pickup system and wanted to say with Fender for onboard electronics but I got frustrated with chasing Fender and ended up with a Dean system. The Dean parts work well and I love the guitar but I would have liked to have Fender parts on it, sort of a theme ya know?

In reference to this "history" of models, etc. This is the perfect place to assemble such a thing. I mean if you needed more photos on certain models there's probably someone here who has it. I can't imagine that there is a model of Fender equipment that someone on here doesn't own. Who else could do it as right as Fender? And where else should that be than on here?

Like that idea, Kong. I always wanted to know what kind of bag came with a guitar. Maybe a smaller fee if one wants an upgraded one? Just shooting the breeze.

Also, being a newbie to electric guitar, (well, forgive me if this was mentioned or is on the site and I didn't get to it) a tiny section for what every beginning guitarist should have? When I got my guitar set, I wish I had some guidance as to what to get for my particular guitar. (Of course, everyone on the board has been very patient with me with my million questions  )

Oh I agree. I have a similar problem but with women's shirts. I bought a Fender ladies' shirt in an XL and it looked like it was made for a barbie doll. Wish the site said it was a junior's or something like that (or at least a proper size chart)

all of the stuff mentioned so far is great especially the instrument pics and views and sound byte apps for instruments and amplifiers. the only thing I've ever noticed missing are pics of accessories, a lot of those may be repetitive but when you are looking for items it is nice to see the pic.

I don't know if this could be possible, but I think that the ability to compare the specs of two or more different guitars (or amplifiers) side by side would be really cool. We get a lot of questions from people who want to know what the difference is between one particular guitar and another. So a feature like that might be useful to a lot of people. :)

Something like this would be great, Thumbs up all the way.

Hi Brad,

I think the product portion of the site is very good overall. I like seeing the detailed specs listed for each product in particular.

Two improvements I think would help:

1) Sound clips for all the amplifiers.
2) Show all the current color options available for all the guitars.

Thanks!

Also, is there somewhere to register your Fender guitar?

EDIT: Never mind.

The guitar sound clips should be through the same amp to get an overall comparison, but might not be the amp that all prefer?
