Excellent suggestion.

Texasguitarslinger posted that before me, I just wanted to reiterate her idea,I think it's much needed.

Sometimes I have trouble remembering where a certain model of Strat is listed.
So a clearer outline would be cool.

nd the compare thing's a good idea--Ibanez does it.

Some fantastic ideas on this thread, although to be fair I feel the info pages are pretty damn good. A thought did occur to me though, how about a page spot lighting a forum member and his Fender gear? Take Alain for example 8) It could be a monthly thing, although it might take a bit longer getting through Alain's collection

sound clips would be amazing, and have all the guitars through like three different amps

Hi Brad,

There is the challenge for you. (I am software/web dev guy)
You are going to have a tough time melding "vinatage" guitar technology
and minds with the current web or shoud I say web 2.0 or 3.0.

I would mention the following (most are repeats)

1. Product comparison
2. Sound clips (mentioning gear used details, with click links to that gear)
This helps you sell your gear as well as guitars, and helps us choose guitars better.
3. Better organized reference to artists using that guitar and other fender gear.
4. Horizontal pics and more of them
5. Most popular gear setup interactive page (most challenging/over the top).
Select guitar, amp, other pedals, etc -> play sound clip (same riff with this setup) -> select clean or dirty channel ->change pickup selector.

I agree that the product section is great, but I also like the following improvements that were already mentioned:

Horizontal Pictures of Guitars that can be zoomed in for detail.

Pictures of all Guitars in all available colors & neck options.

Comparison option to see guitar specs side by side.

Historical listings for discontinued products with specs.

Sound clips would be nice.

The "customize your guitar" option would be really cool where you can pick a body color, neck material, and pick-guard / accessory option to accurately see what the finished product would look like.

Thanks for the opportunity to provide constructive input.

~Kong

I find the amplifier section to be difficult to navigate. If you do not know which category the amp you want to see falls under (Vintage Reissue, Hot Rod, etc) finding it is a hit or miss proposition.

Good point. Product lines are less intuitive than logical categories such as tube amps, solid-state amps, combo amps, modeling amps, amp heads, et al.

I would like to reiterate what has already been said: The product site is very good right now. These are merely refinements we are suggesting. Thanks again for giving us this opportunity. 8)

Brad,

I would like to have the ability to pair a specific guitar with a specific amplifier and hear sound clips of them together. For example I would like to pair a 62 Vintage Reissue Tele with a Vibro King Custom amp and be able to hear all 3 different pickup positions of this combination. Or an American Deluxe Strat with a Bassman amp in all the different pickup settings. This would be an awesome enhancement that could even sell a few more guitars and amps.

One thing I don't like about the site is, the new way of showing the amplifiers. The scrolling amps may be a nice programing trick, but it made finding an amp I wanted to get information on a lot harder for me. (some of us still like simplicity in finding things, instead of challenges  )

I'll vote for sound samples too. Since the "sound produced" is what a musical instrument is all about - sound samples need to be added for all guitars and amps. (maybe with a qualifying statement about computer sound issues - like differing speakers, and sound cards, and such)

I'll also vote for showing views of all the colors available - front & back - and/or a rotate-able image with changeable features.

Recently, I wanted to find out if Fender still made a Strat, or any guitar (Squire? Or anything??) with two humbuckers. A "search", that could also include all of Fenders brands, that includes a way of selecting the items (features?) you want would be a welcome addition.
