He played at the The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival in New Orleans Saturday night. It was an open air and totally free concert. Several good blues greats out there. I went specifically to see Guitar Shorty and Buddy Guy.... both were absolutely great!!! :D Buddy played two different strats... a cream colored and his signature black and white. He is absolutely a great showman...... if you have never seen him live, I highly recommend it!

My other hobby is photography and I took about 200 photos. (the festival allowed photos, but no video or audio recordings) I’m probably better at photography than playing guitar but thats another story.....

Anyway, I was going to post a few photos here for all to enjoy, but I’m not sure if its allowed..... anyone know? If so, I will put a few up.

I actually think it is a criminal offense to make a post like that teasing us, and not posting photos!!!

I have seen buddy several times, I will go every time he comes to town.

Put it like this: If it is as you say and you are a better photographer than guitar player...you could still be one hell of a guitar player, pal.

Really nice work.

I'll bet you were fired up after the concert to go home and break out that Deluxe Strat huh? I know it always has that effect on me for awhile!

You know it my friend! :D Thats the first thing I did when I got home..... That was my first time seeing him live. He is a great artist, but like I said... he is a great showman too! He knows how to get the crowd going. He sings and plays, then talks to the people..... He was playing the cream strat and broke the high E string. He stopped for just a second and smiled and kept going then unwound the string and tossed the string into the crowd. Thats when one of the stage crew handed him his black and white. He was using a wireless setup for the guitar and for a few minutes walked off stage while playing and meandered through the crowd. People were freaking out.... of course he also had several of his own people plus police walking along side of him. It was fantastic. :D

Awesome! I wish I could have been there.

I was just jamming with Guitar Shorty's sideman, Sam Pemberton, a couple of weeks ago. He's from Houston too. :)

He's second from the right, I'm on the far right.

WOW love those pics. Would make a great desktop!

I just took out the CD Best of Buddy Guy from the library great CD. Also, Premier Guitar has an article on him in this month's issue. Just got it last night so I only glanced through it. When they listed his equipment I could have sworn he uses some MIM strats. I'll check again tonight, and retract if I'm wrong.
